Timescape Video: Lights Ibiza II
Using the new generation of cameras I could do this timelapse, video composite long exposure photos, which came together to show the movement of stars, clouds, shadows, all with a real acceleration of what happens in many hours to be viewed in seconds.
99.9% of the video was done at night, with the help of LED lamps to illuminate the rocks, trees, etc … when there was no moon, I used exposures of 30 to 40 seconds, taking 2:30 hours to make a sequence of 10 seconds, but is best seen when the stars and constellations.
I have also photographed with the light of the moon for shorter exposures, because the moonlight illuminates greatly depending on the stage, some of the shots look like they are made during the day, when the moon photography the exhibitions are from 15 to 8 seconds and takes about 1: 15 hours, so I could capture the movement of the shadow on the rocks, the movement of the clouds at night, etc …
The images were taken with a Canon 5D Mark II and have used the objectives of Canon 16-35mm, Canon 24-70mm, Canon 24mm, most of them were made at F/2.8, ISO 1600, 3200, 6400.
All photos are real, although it seems that there are too many stars this is because the human eye can not capture as much light at night. The camera movement has been made by two types of rails, the “Dynamic Perception” and “Pocket Slider” where the camera moves a few millimeters-shot to give the sensation of movement. All this is controlled by a small computer the MX2 Arduino controller.
Most of my trips have been with the company of my friend Alejandro Iborra, which shares the same hobby, and to leave alone at night and spend long hours in remote and difficult places is dangerous, but sometimes I went out alone and I got some fright.
And of course thanks to my wife and the wife of Alejandro Iborra for letting us enjoy this hobby.
All images are created on the island of Ibiza, where I was born, a wonderful place to take photos in their most beautiful spots, coves, beaches, mountains, etc … where you can glimpse a different side of Ibiza that most people do not know.
