Exoplanets: Worlds Beyond Our Solar System
Exoplanets are planets outside of the solar system. They are also referred to as extrasolar planets. Starting in 1992 with the first discovery, astronomers have located about 837 such planets in 660 planetary systems around the Milky Way galaxy. Researchers believe they will find many more planets — a 2012 study estimated that each star of the 100 billion or so in the Milky Way galaxy hosts on average at least 1.6 planets.

Mass UFO Sighting in England and Ireland September 21, 2012
On the night of September 21, 2012, thousands of people across the United Kingdom reported seeing extremely large, bright lights cruise across the night sky. The media has been assuming that these are meteors, however they obviously are not.
Meteors enter the Earth’s atmosphere at a speed between 30,000 and 100,000 MPH. Ever seen a shooting star? They’re pretty fast right? That’s what something moving 50,000 MPH looks like.
These lights are clearly, obviously, not moving that fast. Not even close.
Also, meteors burn up within a second. It is rare for a meteor to last more than even just one second. These lights, according to witnesses, were in the sky for 30-40 seconds! So again, totally impossible that these were meteors.
UFO hunters: They are still watching
A group of British UFO-watchers is celebrating 50 years of searching for spacecraft in the sky. What keeps them looking for extra-terrestrial life?
There are no windows in the functional-looking basement hall beneath a north London hotel. But everyone gathered here is gazing to the heavens.
Figuratively speaking, that is. The annual conference of the British UFO Research Association (Bufora), is a gathering of enthusiasts for unexplained aerial phenomena that might, they speculate, be evidence of extra-terrestrial intelligence.
Dozens of them have travelled from around the UK to be here. They listen to guest speakers patiently and attentively. Many carefully take notes during lectures on such topics as “Ghost Rockets”, “Political, Cultural and Social Influences of UFOs” and “Behind All The Anomalous Reports”.
